Street Racing Tickets
Street Racing is a Criminal Offense:
Illinois law states that street racing, often referred to as drift racing, drag racing, or illegal street racing, is a Class A misdemeanor.
- Punishable by up to one year in jail (364 days).
- Fines of up to $2,500.00.
- MANDATORY revocation of your Illinois driver's license. See 625 ILCS 5/6-205.
Traffic Court for Street Racing:
- The judge will not allow you to represent yourself.
- If convicted, you will be required to appear before an Illinois Secretary of State hearing officer at a formal hearing in order to be reinstated.
